He has graduated

Caleb has graduated from speech, He is so excited. After 7 long years being in speech he is done.

I am excited for him too. He had his IEP today and the speech therapist says he does not need anymore speech. He does however still need reading and math resource.

It all started about when he was 2. I noticed that he wasn't talking like a "normal" 2 year old. My Doctor told me not to worry. I however did and when he was 2 1/2 and still not really talking, I called the Early Intervention program in my city. They came and evaluated him and he qualified.

He was in the program until he was 3, at three you move on too the school district where you get your IEP.

Every year you set new goals and have your IEP meeting. Some of the IEP meetings have been just awful. I think the worst one was his going from preschool to kindergarten. What I saw in Caleb was different than what his teacher saw. In the meeting was the school principle, special ed kindergarten teacher the regular kindergarten teacher, the preschool teacher, the speech therapist, the occupational therapist and the school psychologist.

What we all knew was that Caleb was not learning very fast and that he was struggling. What I saw in Caleb was a very friendly boy, who would have gotten along well in a regular kindergarten class with resource help. His preschool teacher however saw this tall boy who cried and was afraid that he would not do well in a big group.

So what we decide to do was have him go to a small group kindergarten and through out the year he will be transitioned into the regular kindergarten class.

Guess what happened. Nothing until the next IEP meeting and they realized that he was not being transitioned, after that meeting they just through him into the regular kindergarten class. He did great socially, just like I thought he would.

What I learned from this is to trust my mother instinct.
All of his other IEP's have gone great.

What we are most excited about today is that he has made progress in all area's and that he no longer need speech.

Go Caleb, I love you.

This and that.

I am not even sure where to start. Life is going good. I am 12 1/2 weeks pregnant now and things seem to be going good. We heard the heart beat again on Monday and the Doctor was able to find it right away. I am still sick, which is really good. I am so tired I have not ever been this tired before with any of my other pregnancy.
Maybe it is cause I am older. I feel like all my body wants to do is eat and sleep. Eating is getting a little frustrateing because if I eat something to sweet it makes me sick. My pants are already to tight. However this is my 8th pregnancy, I supose I should pop out sooner than later.

Azalea threw winter down the stairs and broke his leg. We are not happy about that.

The last couple of weeks have been really nerve racking for me. I worry so much about losing this baby. So I am grateful for all those that said a prayer for me and my unborn child.

More later I am sure. I am just so tired to really think anymore.
